(Kuala Lumpur, 23rd) Malaysia continues to support resolving conflicts through diplomatic means and negotiations, in line with our commitment to contribute to regional and international peace, stability, and prosperity.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution pointed out that this was one of the topics discussed during his official working visit to Pakistan, in a meeting at the Rawalpindi Army Headquarters with Pakistan's Chief of Defence and Army Chief of Staff, Munir.

In a Facebook post, he said that the meeting was highly significant considering Pakistan’s important role in facilitating negotiations between the United States and Iran regarding resolving the Strait of Hormuz crisis.

"This meeting provided us an opportunity to exchange views on the development of regional and international security situations, including diplomatic approaches and peace-building efforts in responding to geopolitical conflicts and tensions."

"Munir shared Pakistan’s experience in facilitating peace negotiations between the United States and Iran, and I shared Malaysia’s experience in facilitating negotiations between Thailand and Cambodia, which ultimately led to both sides reaching a ceasefire agreement."

He said that despite the differing challenges faced, the experiences of both countries prove that diplomacy, dialogue, and building trust remain the most effective ways to ease tensions and pave the way for the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
