An Indonesian man, dissatisfied over his beloved dog allegedly being poisoned to death by a neighbor, let anger get the better of him and reportedly killed the neighbor in a fit of rage.
According to Indonesian media reports, Sanggau District Police Criminal Investigation Chief Wahyuzadi said the suspect, AA (alias), admitted to carrying out the attack using an air gun and a machete.
“The reason the suspect committed the crime was because his dog is believed to have been poisoned by the victim, which led to his intense anger.”
The body of the 44-year-old victim, AA (alias), was discovered on October 30 in a drainage ditch in Jelutung Village, Pemangkat Regency. Police investigations revealed that the victim sustained severe injuries.
The police launched a full investigation, including collecting evidence at the crime scene, reviewing multiple CCTV recordings, and taking statements from several witnesses.
On November 14, the police arrested the suspect at his home in Sanggau, West Kalimantan, Indonesia. The suspect and related evidence have been taken to Sanggau District Police Station for further investigation.
The police have urged the public to remain calm and to leave the handling of cases to law enforcement authorities.
