French President Macron announced on the 17th that Ukraine and France have signed a letter of intent that includes the purchase of 100 'Rafale' fighter jets.
At a joint press conference with Zelensky, he stated that France and Ukraine will strengthen bilateral cooperation over the next 10 years, especially in the field of defense industry cooperation. Ukraine will purchase up to 100 'Rafale' fighter jets from France in the coming decade, and in the next three years France will also deliver drones to Ukraine.
He pointed out that France's support for Ukraine is not limited to the military field, but also covers civilian and economic sectors.
Zelensky stated that Ukraine's order of 'Rafale' fighter jets from France is 'historic.'
The French presidential office announced that the purchase letter of intent signed by the two leaders also includes Ukraine buying radar systems, air defense systems, and drones from France.
Ukraine Procures 55 New Electric Locomotives
In addition, Ukrainian Railways has signed a contract worth about 470 million euros with France's Alstom to purchase 55 new electric locomotives. The contract will be mainly financed by a 300 million euro (about 1.442 billion MYR) loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and 190 million USD (about 788 million MYR) from the World Bank.
