(United States, 15th) U.S. Vice President Vance said he plans to attend the Iran peace agreement signing ceremony in Switzerland in a few days, and that President Trump may also be present.
According to AFP, Vance was interviewed by Fox News on Sunday (June 14) and was asked if he would attend the signing ceremony. He said: “I certainly plan to attend, but the President himself might also attend.”
He added: "We will be able to lower energy costs, not just now, but also in the long term, and create a true engine of prosperity in the Middle East."
He also said that the ceasefire agreement could mean a "new era" for the Middle East and praised Trump’s efforts with Gulf nations and regional allies to facilitate the agreement. “What the President has done is truly create space to transform the region. Now, we hope to initiate a new era with Iran.”
He said: “I think we can safely say that Iran will never possess nuclear weapons... This is a good thing for the American people.”
Mediator Pakistan stated that the signing ceremony will be held in Geneva on June 19.
Pakistani President Sharif thanked the United States and Iran for “finding a diplomatic solution to the conflict.” He wrote on social media: “Both parties have announced the immediate and permanent cessation of military actions on all fronts, including Lebanon.”
He also thanked the leaders of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey for their support in the mediation process.
