Japanese media reports that South Korea's Samsung Electronics will withdraw from the Chinese home appliance and television sales market within this year.
Foreign media on the 27th cited a report from Japan's Nikkei on the same day, saying that Samsung Electronics will make a final decision as early as the end of April on whether to stop its home appliance and television sales business in China.
Nikkei reported that Samsung Electronics will retain its production of refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners in China, using these production facilities to supply overseas markets.
The report said the main reason for Samsung Electronics leaving the Chinese market is a decline in price competitiveness. Chinese manufacturers can provide quality products at low prices, thereby strengthening their position in the global market.
In a statement, Samsung Electronics said that the company regularly reviews its global business structure as the operating environment changes, and regarding the rumored potential restructuring of its operations in China, there has been no final conclusion yet.
