US Vice President Vance met with Ukrainian President Zelensky in Rome on the 18th. This is their first meeting since their argument at the White House in February.
Vance's spokesperson stated around 2:40 PM local time: "Vice President Vance is meeting with Ukrainian President Zelensky at the US ambassador's residence."
On the morning of the 18th, the two briefly met and shook hands during the inauguration mass of the new Catholic Pope Leo XIV.
A senior Ukrainian official told AFP that during the brief meeting between Zelensky and Vance in Rome that morning, they discussed the upcoming call between US President Trump and Russian President Putin.
