Raymond Wong's Production Reduced, No Help from TVB Executives

Raymond Wong recently attended the "TVB All-Star Charity Show" event, where most artists were present to support. Raymond Wong, along with Shaun Tam, Lucy Li, and Timothy To, formed a band to perform.

Earlier, Raymond Wong was interviewed by an online platform, revealing that his on-screen appearances on TVB have significantly reduced in recent years because there are different stages every few years. For the past five years, he has typically maintained appearing in one drama per year or one every two years. Asked if TVB offered any help after his statement, he said there hasn't been any: "Actually, there's never been any help. It's not just a recent issue; I think after 2018 and 2019, after I finished 'The Defected,' it's mostly been one drama a year." However, he pointed out that from 'Forensic Heroes V' onwards, it became one every two years. Raymond Wong further explained that many situations are involved, not just the reasons he previously mentioned: "Many factors determine when production starts, but in the end, the timing is extended. As actors, we're passive and can only rely on waiting!"

When Raymond Wong was asked if Eric Tsang or Virginia Lok reached out to understand the situation after his remarks, he responded no: "No, no, no, nothing at all. (What about the producers?) How would they extend help? I don't think it's about offering help, and that's not the main point. I believe the most important thing is having roles that suit us." Raymond Wong also pointed out that it's an issue actors of his age face: "At this age, in this position, and with this status, what can we still do in the company or in a drama." He also believes that every artist is prepared and ready to dive into work as soon as they receive a notice or script.

Raymond Wong stated that he wouldn't recommend himself for dramas: "Mostly it's about waiting for writers and chatting briefly when I run into them. Actually, in the current environment, you can’t start working just like that." Even filming teams need to go through approvals, and in-house dramas also require many conditions to align before production can begin. He even revealed he wants to work behind the scenes.
