TANK Goes to China for Heart and Liver Transplant, Responds to Critics: 'Live with Kindness'

43-year-old singer TANK (real name: Lü Jianzhong) rose to fame in the early years with songs like "Exclusive Angel" and "Only You," and was once the junior of the girl group S.H.E. He also released the song "If I Become a Memory" and shared the sad story of his family's hereditary heart disease, which led to the passing of his sister.

In April this year, TANK announced that he had successfully undergone a "simultaneous heart and liver transplant" in China, which unexpectedly drew comments. In response, TANK, for the first time, addressed this yesterday (the 16th), stating that he will not read malicious comments and hopes that critics "live with a bit more kindness."

Yesterday, TANK posted a selfie, saying, "I have been silent for more than half a year, very sorry to keep you waiting, it has taken me until now to recover; it hasn't been easy. Thank you to those who cared and supported me, finally able to stand up properly again, if there are still those who doubt, just don't look, live with more kindness, every day is a new day," smiling as he joked, "Just imagine myself blasting out of Five Elements Mountain like the Great Sage," happily welcoming his rebirth.

TANK has suffered from heart disease since his debut, and due to poor health, his work has been affected for many years. In April this year, TANK announced that he signed with a new company in 2022 and planned to start afresh in Hangzhou. Just as he was enjoying the joy of being back on stage, his heart condition affected his life again in March 2024. After hospitalization, doctors informed him that "only a simultaneous heart and liver transplant could completely resolve the issue."
