(US, 21st) US Vice President Vance departed on the afternoon of the 20th for Switzerland to attend negotiations with the Iranian side.

Before departure, Vance told media reporters that he expects to stay in Switzerland for one to two days, hoping to make progress in the negotiations on Iran's nuclear program and a ceasefire on the Lebanon front.

US negotiation representatives Kushner and Wyckoff have already arrived in Switzerland.

After the US and Iran signed an end-of-war memorandum, a 60-day negotiation period was initiated. The US and Iran originally scheduled a new round of talks in Switzerland on the 19th, but both sides delayed their departures for various reasons.

In a pre-departure media interview, Vance stated that he could only stay in Switzerland for one to two days and hopes to make progress on the nuclear issue and the Lebanon ceasefire issue: "I believe these are the two major topics we will focus on," adding that he believes the Iranian side has other issues they wish to discuss as well.
