Borneo Robotics Competition Concludes: Encouraging Innovation, Creating the Future

(Miri, 11th) The Minister of Sarawak Education, Innovation, and Talent Development, Dato Sri Roland Sagah, expressed that the ministry, as the main sponsor of this year's event, feels deeply honored. This sponsorship reflects the ministry's strong commitment to nurturing innovation and talent.
He said that through events like the Borneo International Robotics Tournament (BIRT), the ministry hopes to empower the next generation of leaders and innovators.
“We firmly believe that supporting events like BIRT is key to inspiring creativity and problem-solving skills, which will help build a better future.”
He stated this in a speech at the closing and awards dinner of the 2025 Borneo International Robotics Tournament last night. Unable to attend in person, his speech was read by the ministry's Management Services Division Director, Hussaini Bakri.
Roland Sagah pointed out that with the successful conclusion of this year's tournament, he is filled with hope and anticipation for the future we shape together.
“Over the past few days, we have witnessed countless young minds embracing challenges with innovative thinking, collaborating across borders, and demonstrating a true spirit of innovation. Each competition, every exchange, every interaction, has reflected a deep commitment to excellence and creativity.”
He extended the highest respect to participants from Sarawak and various countries and regions worldwide, including China, Macau, Chinese Taipei, Vietnam, Thailand, among others, praising their vitality, creativity, and resilience displayed during the competition.
“Not only have you participated with firm belief, but you have also fully showcased the infinite possibilities of the future world. The critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork spirit you honed in the process will become tools to face various challenges in the future.”
He especially thanked Miri Chinese Middle School for its excellent leadership in organizing this exceptional event, praising its enthusiasm, perseverance, and pursuit of excellence that allowed the 2025 Borneo International Robotics Tournament to be held successfully.
At the same time, he also thanked the technical partners Sasbadi Learning Solutions and Tesslab Robotics for their professional knowledge and valuable support, aiding participants in achieving excellence.
He did not forget to thank all the co-organizers, including the Ministry of Education Malaysia, Sarawak Education Department, Miri Division Education Department, and Miri City Council, for their cooperation and firm belief in education and technology.
“As everyone returns home, please continue to pass on the spirit of exploration and collaboration embodied by this tournament. Let the friendships you have built and the experiences you have learned become the motivation on your future paths in robotics, technology, or any dream you pursue.”
He warmly invited guests from all countries to once again visit this beautiful land in the future, to continue cooperating, inspiring each other, and jointly creating a world driven by innovation and creativity.
“Thank you all for making the 2025 Borneo International Robotics Tournament a spectacular and memorable event. May we meet again, continue to innovate, continue to inspire, and never stop chasing the stars!”
