(Miri 7th) Miri Member of Parliament Chiew Choon Man strongly condemns the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) for continuing to use the so-called "titah addendum" issue to incite social unrest, foment hatred against the government, and disrupt the political situation.
He pointed out that PAS's irresponsible behavior seriously undermines national unity, security, and international reputation.
Chiew Choon Man emphasized that the issues involved in the "titah addendum" fall within the constitutional and legal realm and must be resolved through legitimate processes, which are the core principles of our nation's democratic system. Therefore, the issue has currently been handed over to the courts, and everyone should have full confidence in the fairness and swift resolution by the judicial system.
He continued to criticize PAS for exaggerating this issue in an attempt to create tensions and social division. He believes that the false accusations faced by the government will only lead to chaos and mistrust, and such behavior will undermine constructive political discussions that should be focused on helping the people and advancing national development.
Chiew Choon Man further pointed out that under the leadership of Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the Malaysian MADANI government has made significant progress in restoring political stability, promoting economic recovery, and advancing socio-economic reforms.
He stated that under the current government’s leadership, Malaysia will continue to progress and prosper, with more positive outcomes in the next five years. He expressed regret towards some individuals who fear the emergence of these positive achievements and choose to politicize issues rather than offer constructive opinions beneficial to the nation.
He also echoed the call of Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture YB Tiong King Sing, emphasizing that Prime Minister Anwar should be allowed to complete his term. Past political turmoil has shown that frequent leadership changes are extremely detrimental to national development and stability. Therefore, all political parties should focus their efforts on ensuring the successful implementation of government policies and plans, rather than pursuing agendas that disrupt stability.
Chiew Choon Man finally stated that the government will continue to commit to creating a peaceful and stable environment, promote economic growth, attract investment, and improve the welfare of all Malaysians. He called on all parties to cease any actions that may undermine national stability, to unite and work together to ensure Malaysia’s prosperity, maintain trust in the judicial system, and uphold our democratic values.
