(Miri, 3rd) Organized by MYAC Miri Youth Activity Center, the "Protection and Inheritance Sharing Session" will be held on November 8th (Saturday), from 2 PM to 5 PM, at the Miri Digital Library Audio Visual Room. The public is welcome to participate for free, with refreshments provided on site.
The keynote speaker, Alycia Lee (Lee Pei Ying), has more than 20 years of experience in insurance and financial planning, specializing in risk management, wealth planning, and estate succession design. She will explain the importance of wills and the key approaches to inheritance planning in an easy-to-understand manner, enabling participants to learn how to provide thorough protection for their families.
In addition, representatives from the Social Security Organization (SOCSO) have been invited to share on multiple topics closely related to the public, including the Employees' Social Security Act 1969 and the Employees' Social Security (General) Regulations 1971 (Akta 4), the Self-Employed Social Security Act 2017 (Akta 789), the Employment Insurance System Act 2017 (Akta 800), and the Housewives' Social Security Act 2022 (Akta 838).
This part of the session will help the public gain a deeper understanding of the coverage of the government social security system and how to utilize the existing system to strengthen the social protection of individuals and families.
It is worth mentioning that SOCSO representatives will also assist female participants on site with the registration for the Women’s Social Security Scheme (Skim Keselamatan Sosial Wanita). Those interested are advised to bring their identification cards for registration purposes.
