Trump’s Harsh Rhetoric Against Iran Criticized as 'Childish and Embarrassing'

(US, 6th) US President Trump’s profanity-laden attack on Iran Sunday has drawn criticism both on and off Capitol Hill.

According to AFP, on Sunday (April 5th) Trump wrote: “Open the (expletive) strait, you bunch of crazy (expletive), or you can go to hell—just wait and see!”

This provoked a flurry of criticism. Senate Democrat Minority Leader Schumer said on social media X: “America, Happy Easter. As you go to church and gather with friends and family to celebrate, the President of the United States is ranting like a madman on social media.”

“He’s threatening to commit war crimes and pushing away allies. That’s him, but that’s not us. Our country deserves better.”

Virginia Democrat Senator Kaine pointed out that this was not the first time Trump had used such harsh rhetoric.
He previously said on NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’: “Bomb them back to the Stone Age. Curse them.”

“All of this is embarrassing and childish. These people are trying to act tough and swagger, but what we have seen in this war from this administration is a lack of planning and a lack of clear logic.”

The criticism is not limited to Trump’s Democratic opponents.

Marjorie Jo Greene, once a staunch Trump supporter, opposes US intervention overseas. She posted on X: “Everyone in his administration who claims to be Christian should get on their knees and repent to God, stop worshiping the president, and put an end to Trump’s madness.”

However, there are also those who have praised Trump’s harsh words.

Right-wing firebrand commentator Loomer wrote on X: “This is what I voted for. Bomb the jihadis back to the Stone Age and keep them in that mindset forever.”

“On Easter, no less. Truly shocking. Absolutely shocking.”
