(Iran, 6th) The office of Iran’s Supreme Leader on the 5th posted on social media the contents of the first speech by Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, emphasizing that the Iranian people wish to continue effective and humiliating resistance, and reiterated the need to continue blocking the Strait of Hormuz.
At the same time, on the 5th, US President Trump issued a statement laced with vulgar language, threatening to destroy Iran's key civilian infrastructure and demanding that Tehran yield to his demands, reach a deal to reopen Gulf shipping and end the Middle East war.
Iran has, in effect, blocked the Strait of Hormuz, which infuriated Trump. On Sunday, he questioned in a post: “For f***’s sake, open the strait now, you lunatics, or you’ll all go to hell!”
Later, in another short message, Trump set a new deadline for Iran: “Tuesday (the 7th) at 8pm” (which is 8am Wednesday Malaysian time).
He also hinted at a fierce bombing of Iran’s power plants and bridges. “Tuesday will be ‘power plant day’ and ‘bridge day’ for Iran, rolled into one. Unprecedented!!!”
Iran's First Vice President Aref wrote on social media that threatening other countries at the expense of the well-being of the American people shows that President Trump is still living in the ‘Stone Age’.
Aref said that Trump claims war prevents him from taking care of 'kindergartens and healthcare’ for Americans, and is now threatening to destroy Iran’s power plants and bridges. “A person who threatens other nations at the expense of his own people's welfare is still mired in the ‘Stone Age’.”
Aref also said that Iran has chosen a different path, and will press on with development even under pressure.
Iranian Military: Trump and US Forces Embarrassed
An Iranian military spokesperson said that Trump, who is in trouble, and the US military, which is facing defeat, are now in an embarrassing situation that cannot be remedied by words, media warfare, or psychological warfare.
The Iranian military spokesperson said that the Islamic armed forces, using electronic warfare and modern air defense systems, have implemented comprehensive ground defense plans and shot down multiple enemy aircraft, including two ‘Black Hawk’ helicopters. After being surrounded by Iranian troops, the US military “in order to save Trump’s face, was forced to launch heavy strikes against (Iran)-downed aircraft, as well as equipment, commanders, and soldiers.”
