As of 10:18 PM Eastern Time on the 1st, the price of May delivery light crude oil futures on the New York Mercantile Exchange rose as high as $104.5 per barrel, up 4.37% compared to the previous trading session's closing price; June delivery Brent crude oil futures on the London exchange rose as high as $106.31 per barrel (about 427.85 ringgit), up 5.09% compared to the previous trading session's closing price.
Previously, due to optimistic expectations in the market that the Iran conflict might end soon, international crude oil futures prices had retreated.
