After Barbie Hsu (Hsu Hsi-yuan) passed away in February, her ashes were placed in the Rose Garden of Chin Pao San. Her husband, Koo Jun-yup, visits the cemetery almost every day, sitting quietly and accompanying his beloved wife for more than three hours each time. Even when the grounds staff conduct pesticide spraying, he remains in front of the tombstone and never leaves. When asked whether he often dreams of Barbie Hsu, he candidly admitted, “Of course!”
According to Apple Online News, when Koo Jun-yup goes to Chin Pao San, he brings six framed photos, his wife's favorite snacks, and candles to pay tribute. His older brother Michael even specially flew to Taiwan from Korea to support him. The two brothers sit side by side, quietly guarding the tombstone. Koo Jun-yup is also on site conceptualizing and designing Barbie Hsu's memorial, creating as he gazes at the tombstone and occasionally showing a faint smile. During this, when the gardener started to spray pesticides, Koo Jun-yup, though initially without a mask, insisted on staying. He only asked his brother to fetch a mask from the car for him to wear. The two of them remained by the tombstone the entire time; their steadfast love is deeply moving and evokes a sense of poignant sorrow.
Although Koo Jun-yup did not reveal what he talks about with Barbie Hsu in front of the tombstone, nor did he specify how long he will stay in Taiwan, he stated that he often dreams of his beloved wife, continuing the deep bond that transcends life and death between the two of them.
