Diva Sammi Cheng was originally set to grace the grand stage of Hong Kong’s newest landmark “Kai Tak Sports Park Arena” from July 10 to 12 for the highly anticipated You & Mi Sammi Cheng Concert 2026 – Final Stop of the Asian Tour. However, just days before the concert, shocking news broke! The organizer, Media Asia Entertainment, issued an urgent statement announcing that due to a malfunction in a key stage component, and in consideration of safety and the integrity of the show, the concert would be postponed without prior notice!
The organizers revealed that during the stage construction and testing, they discovered a defect in a critical part. Although a thorough inspection and an active search for replacement parts were initiated immediately, after multiple efforts, they still could not guarantee delivery of the original planned performance to the highest safety standards before opening night. In the end, they reluctantly decided on a postponement. The organizer emphasized that they are currently investigating the root cause of the equipment failure and will reserve all rights for legal action. As for new dates and refund arrangements, these are still being actively planned.
As this was set to be a landmark performance for the Kai Tak Arena, the news instantly caused a huge stir. Many local and overseas fans who had already made travel plans flooded social media to complain. Quite a few visitors who had flown into Hong Kong were caught off guard by the sudden upheaval, expressing frustration that their expenses on flights and hotels were now irretrievable and their schedules had descended into total chaos.

The organizer reminds all ticket holders that they can present their original tickets according to the date, time, and seat to enter for free to attend the appreciation event. After the event, fans should keep their tickets and stubs intact. Once new dates for the postponed concert are announced, audiences may then freely choose between “applying for a full refund” or “retaining their ticket to attend the rescheduled official concert.” In other words, fans get double assurance — free entry to the appreciation event plus the option to refund or keep their ticket for the main show.
In fact, this isn’t the first time Sammi Cheng has encountered such sudden disruptions in her career; in the past, she has always overcome obstacles with great determination and sincerity. Her scheduled July 2023 Hong Kong Coliseum concert was postponed an entire year because of lingering vocal and physical issues due to long COVID, but she finally held a successful replacement concert in July 2024. At her 2016 “Touch Mi 2” world tour opening show at the Coliseum, she lost her voice due to severe allergies and throat inflammation. At that time, she apologized to the audience in tears three times on stage, but still fought through the entire show with extraordinary willpower, winning thunderous applause.
