(Miri, 19th) Following tradition and promoting filial piety, Miri Eight Immortals Palace will hold its annual Ullambana Festival Ritual on August 27 (Year of Bingwu, 15th day of the 7th lunar month, Thursday) at 5:30 PM in front of the temple. The ceremony will make offerings and transfer merits to sentient beings from all realms and wandering spirits, comforting the departed and praying for peace throughout the seasons, the dispelling of misfortune, receipt of blessings, and overall good fortune.
There will be live singing performances to enliven the atmosphere, and auctioning of ritual offerings will be conducted. The palace sincerely invites members from all walks of life—scholars, farmers, workers, merchants, as well as devotees from the public—to come and offer incense, partake in the dharma virtues, and join in this grand event.
