(Bandar Seri Begawan, 15th) In order to raise public awareness of human trafficking crimes in Brunei and strengthen various measures to combat such crimes, the Human Trafficking Investigation Team of the Criminal Investigation Department, Royal Brunei Police Force, held a mobile awareness briefing on human trafficking crimes at Capital Residence Suite in Kampong Berangan, Bandar Seri Begawan, targeting frontline staff, including police officers and employees.
The main purpose of this briefing was to educate and enhance participants’ awareness of methods to identify potential victims of human trafficking in Brunei. Law enforcement departments and frontline organizations, especially hotel staff, should remain vigilant and take a proactive role in identifying guests who may be lured and exploited as victims of human trafficking. The close cooperation of hotel employees is crucial in the joint effort to combat human trafficking crimes and to assist the Royal Brunei Police Force in carrying out this work.
