(Thailand, 21st) A Thai man suspected his neighbor had been sending him harassing messages and threatening images for years, building a grudge for almost three years. In the end, he climbed over the wall and broke into his neighbor's house, beating him to death with a wooden stick in front of the neighbor's wife.
Thai media Thai Examiner reported that the incident occurred around 11 p.m. on the 19th in a village in Huai Phai subdistrict in Saweangha District, Ang Thong Province. The entire process of the crime was captured by surveillance cameras.
According to the report, the deceased was 65-year-old Saiwai. After receiving the report, police rushed to the scene and found him lying in a pool of blood, with severe head injuries, and he succumbed to his wounds.
The police subsequently found a wooden stick about one meter long near the scene, believed to be the murder weapon used by the suspect.
The deceased's 59-year-old wife, Pranom, told police that the suspect was their neighbor and had been accusing her husband of sending him bizarre messages and threatening images over the years, but the couple always denied the allegations.
However, the suspect refused to accept their explanation, and the relationship between the two households continued to worsen.
She stated that the two families often quarrelled, and later even built a wall to separate their homes in hopes of reducing conflict, but the neighborhood dispute could never be resolved.
At the time of the incident, Pranom was taking a shower inside the house when she suddenly heard a violent argument outside. She thought it was just another quarrel, but when she rushed out to check, she saw the suspect attacking her husband with a wooden stick.
Although she tried to stop him, she was unable to prevent the tragedy. The suspect fled the scene after committing the crime and took her mobile phone.
Police are currently searching for the suspect and believe he may still be hiding in nearby woods or grassy areas. Since he took the deceased's wife's mobile phone and is carrying a knife, there is increased risk and uncertainty in the case.
