(Seria, 23rd) In celebration of Brunei’s National Teacher’s Day, RTB Chinese Radio will hold the "2025 National Teacher’s Day Creative Greetings Competition" in August 2025. The event spanned a month and attracted about 120 entries. The list of winners and their works were announced and broadcast on RTB Chinese Radio’s afternoon program at 4PM on September 22nd (Monday).
This year’s competition welcomed participation from current students, teachers, and the general public. The recipients of gratitude extended beyond the traditional notion of "teachers," encompassing influential elders, friends, and even strangers who provided enlightenment and guidance, thereby fully showcasing the diversity and social value of educational influence.
The list of ten winners is as follows:
Miao Jiren, Chen Jialing, Wu Jing, Fang Xuehui, Hu Ting, Liu Jirun, Chen Enyi, Cai Yujing, Liu Jiayu, Yang Zhuoying.
The judging criteria focused on two main aspects:
1. Content creation — Highlighting uniqueness and creativity, contestants were evaluated on their ability to convey genuine emotion and deep reflection within a limited length.
2. Presentation — Emphasizing clarity, emotional resonance, and language appropriateness, with sincerity regarded as a core value.
Each entry was limited to a 90-second audio recording, testing the participants’ linguistic conciseness and expressive power. The audio quality was not used as a scoring criterion, aiming to encourage honest and unfiltered expressions of gratitude and to let the competition return to the essence of "thought and emotion."
This event was generously sponsored by Kingston Beverage & Creamery Sdn Bhd. Apart from receiving exquisite gift packages, the winners will also be invited to tour an ice cream factory for a unique and memorable experience. This special arrangement not only adds fun to the competition, but also makes the act of expressing gratitude more concrete and vivid.
Producer Zheng Boxing stated that even entries not selected as winners displayed sincere gratitude from different perspectives.
He emphasized that the competition’s significance lies not only in judging, but also in providing a platform for heartfelt expression and promoting the spirit of respect for teachers and gratitude. He pointed out: “Teacher’s Day is not merely a commemorative occasion; it’s a reminder to hold gratitude in our hearts and to promptly thank those who have made a difference in our lives.”
RTB Chinese Radio stated that the competition was not only meant to honor the winners, but also provided the public with an opportunity to re-examine the broader meaning of “teacher.” Education is never limited to the classroom, but is interwoven throughout every moment of enlightenment and guidance in life. Through creative greetings, participants conveyed gratitude and respect in their works, bestowing Teacher’s Day with even deeper humanistic significance.
