“JessC” Zhong Jiexi returned to the stage after a seven-month hiatus, holding the ‘This Is Me’ World Tour Kuala Lumpur stop at the Mega Star Arena on the 20th. The performance continued much of the previous content, making only adjustments to the stage presentation and setlist, with a few new songs added. During the three-and-a-half-hour show, she sang nearly 40 songs in Mandarin, Malay, and English, and even challenged herself with the Japanese song ‘Koibito’ and the Cantonese song ‘浪子心声’ (The Heart of a Vagabond). Whether performing upbeat or slow songs, the audience provided full emotional support throughout, creating a lively atmosphere.

The concert attracted fans from all over. In addition to performing in multiple languages, Zhong Jiexi specially dedicated the Japanese song ‘Koibito’ to fans who came all the way from Japan, and also sang the Cantonese song ‘浪子心声’ (The Heart of a Vagabond). She stated that Malaysia is a country of many languages and cultures that celebrates various festivals, and when she sang the Hari Raya song ‘Satu Suara Raya’ she joked, “Although Hari Raya has passed, as long as everyone can celebrate together, every day can be Hari Raya.” In addition, she performed ‘Hark! The Herald Angels Sing’ to celebrate Christmas early with her fans.

This time, she added fan favorites ‘爱的陪练’ (Love's Sparring Partner) and ‘心跳如鼓’ (Heartbeat Like a Drum) to her setlist; when performing ‘爱的陪练’(Love’s Sparring Partner), she thanked her fans for their years of companionship and gave a deep bow. Besides singing, she showcased her musical talents by singing and playing six songs on piano, synthesizer, keyboard, and keytar, joking that she was giving everyone a “musical spa” and self-mockingly added, “The pressure is really on this time!”

This concert, Zhong Jiexi once again invited Malaysian diva Fauziah Latiff and her former stage play partners Li Ansheng and Li Antian (from ‘No Tears Sky’ and ‘Zhu Yingtai’) as guest performers. She and Fauziah Latiff sang ‘Tak Terpisah’, and for the first time performed ‘Dia’ together. She also sang ‘The Most Beautiful Place in the World’ with Li Ansheng and ‘Detour’ with Li Antian. During the song ‘Love You’, her husband Ma Sijian came on stage to present her with flowers and escorted her down to shake hands with the audience. The fans’ enthusiasm was overwhelming, surrounding her so much that she couldn’t help but laugh and shout, “Help!”

The stage costumes also became a highlight. Zhong Jiexi opened with a “blue armor Wonder Woman” look, then changed into a traditional white Malay outfit adorned with 20,000 rhinestones, then transformed into a “pink floral princess” and a “red flame queen.” She revealed, “Each of the 20,000 rhinestones on the pure white Malay traditional outfit was sewn on one by one,” and that the “pink floral princess” look had a thousand fabric flowers sewn individually as well. Each look represented a different style and mood, layering the visual story. For the encore, she ended with a rock version of ‘Stars Fill the Sky’, wrapping up the show amid cheers from the audience.
