A countryside resort in Suqian, Jiangsu, China has launched a 'lion cub wake-up service,' sparking heated discussion. The resort hotel offers a unique service allowing guests to book a lion cub to enter their room for a one-of-a-kind morning wake-up experience. One night's room rate is 628 RMB (366 Ringgit), and bookings are currently extremely popular—the next two weeks are fully booked.

This service initially went viral through a video posted by a Jiangsu netizen. In the video, staff lead a lion cub to a guest room; a child takes the leash and enters the room with the cub. The video attracted widespread attention online, with many asking for the specific location. According to JiMu News, the hotel is located in a countryside resort which has an animal exhibition area. The wake-up service requires advance booking, and the little lion can enter rooms for close interaction with guests. The Suqian Cultural and Tourism official account has previously posted promotions featuring the resort's lion cubs entering rooms.

● Special Service Limited to 20 Rooms Daily

The Suqian Cultural and Tourism official account has previously released promotional material for this lion cub room-entry service. According to the booking page, the room type featuring the 'Cute Lion Wake-Up' service is priced at 628 RMB per night, including optional meals, access to the family playground, and multiple other amenities. This special service is limited to 20 rooms per day, with wake-up service hours from 8 am to 10 am; guests must sign an Asian Lion Wake-Up Service Agreement at the front desk in advance.

A countryside resort staff member said on the 10th that the lion cub can stay in the guest room for about 7 minutes, and a professional keeper will accompany the session throughout—guests should also pay attention to their own safety. The staffer also revealed that the 'Cute Lion Wake-Up' service is fully booked up until November 24th; if guests would like to see the cub, they can book an animal meet-and-greet event at the resort instead.

A staff member from the Suqian Culture and Tourism Bureau stated that approvals for animal husbandry qualifications do not fall under the department’s jurisdiction.
