(Bandar Seri Begawan, 26th) – The Brunei Immigration and National Registration Department recently carried out two enforcement operations, “Kakas 64/2026” and “Kakas 65/2026”, conducting inspections at rental residences in the Mentiri area and Berakas B area, resulting in the detention of six foreign nationals suspected of violating immigration laws.
In the “Kakas 64/2026” operation, enforcement officers inspected a total of nine foreign nationals, among whom six were detained for allegedly overstaying, working for employers without approval, or engaging in illegal work while holding visitor passes.
Additionally, in the “Kakas 65/2026” operation conducted in the Berakas B area, another foreign national was detained on suspicion of overstaying and working for an employer other than the one specified on his work permit.
All those detained have been taken to the Immigration Enforcement Unit for further investigation, and the cases will be handled in accordance with Chapter 17 of the Immigration Act and the prevailing Immigration Regulations.
