Hong Kong singer Eric Suen announced that he will be performing at Genting on April 5th. Coming to Malaysia specifically to promote his 'Nice to Meet You' world tour, he joked that he hasn't been to Malaysia in over 10 years and is feeling excited. As a self-proclaimed foodie, he also expressed his eagerness to savor Malaysian cuisine.
He apologized to fans for not coming to Malaysia for so long, claiming himself to be a 'very unreliable idol,' admitting that he often suddenly disappears for a while and then returns only to disappear again. He promised to repay everyone with his singing, saying "I'm sorry for making you wait so long. I will perform with 200% effort for my Malaysia show!"
The 52-year-old Eric Suen started his career in Taiwan as a singer, then transitioned to acting, and in recent years has ventured into becoming a live streamer in China. Last year, he began his 'Nice to Meet You' tour in China with plans to perform in Malaysia once the tour was more established. However, due to the organizer's sincerity and his own desire to meet Malaysian fans, he agreed to the performance.
Eric Suen admitted that preparing for a tour is complicated and said, "To be honest, I've been in the industry for a long time, and I wonder if people still want to hear my songs. The competition is so fierce now. Can I perform well on a big stage? Will I be able to do it? I have confidence in myself, but I’m definitely older now...haha!" He added that despite any challenges, he is happy during the preparation and rehearsal process and expressed that he "can’t wait for the concert in Malaysia."
He previewed that he would perform a Malay song and revealed that Cai Enn Rainie will be a guest. "Actually, I don't know her, but I invited her through a friend. I admire her power and hope that we can use her energy to make the concert even more lively!" He also mentioned that friend Chen Weiquan would be handling the concert's sound control and jokingly said, "I've secretly arranged for him!"
Eric Suen’s concert in Malaysia coincides with an Energy concert, but he is not concerned about ticket sales. He confidently stated that, at this point in his career and having been in the industry for so long, hosting a concert is a happy occasion, like having a meal with old friends, and he is simply looking forward to it. "It doesn't matter how many tickets are sold or how many people attend. Even if there is only one audience member in the crowd who sincerely came to see my concert, I think that’s already a wonderful thing."
The Malaysian stop of Eric Suen's 'Nice to Meet You' world tour will be held on April 5th at 6 PM at the Genting World Arena. Ticket prices are RM668, RM568, RM468, RM338, and RM238 (excluding a RM4 processing fee) and will be on sale starting March 7th at 12 PM via www.rwgenting.com.
