42nd Anniversary Celebration of Zili Pavilion: Li Jing Sheng Praises Religious Harmony and Social Contribution

(Miri, 6th) Sarawak Minister of Transport, Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin, stated that the Sarawak government is highly focused on the harmony and stable development among different ethnic groups. It is committed to supporting religious communities through multi-religious affairs units to promote the prosperity and harmony of the community.

Speaking at the 'Morality Night Gala Dinner' celebrating the 42nd anniversary of Zili Pavilion, organized by the Moral Uplifting Society in Miri at the Imperial Palace Hotel last night, he pointed out that the Sarawak government, led by Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari, places great emphasis on religious harmony. He stressed that extreme ideologies should not be spread and that all religious beliefs should be respected.

The government supports social, educational, and religious groups by providing grants to benefit the people, further promoting the prosperity and development of the community.

He specifically mentioned that during the Chinese New Year at the Miri Colorful Bazaar, more than half of the stalls were run by non-Chinese operators, reflecting the harmony and friendship among various ethnic groups.

Lee Kim Shin also expressed appreciation for the achievements of Zili Pavilion over the past 42 years, especially in its outstanding performance in promoting public welfare. Zili Pavilion has not only organized gift-giving activities during festivals for ten consecutive years, helping many in need, but has also cared for the impoverished and vulnerable groups through actions such as visiting homes for the elderly, providing coffins and funerals, donating blood, and offering relief supplies.

Moreover, he mentioned that Zili Pavilion actively responds to the government's call to build a loving and caring society. Zili Pavilion not only focuses on vulnerable social groups but also helps young people build correct values and moral cultivation through organizing academic activities, nurturing a more responsible young generation for society.

Lee Kim Shin pointed out that the activities of Zili Pavilion not only promote cultural exchange in Miri City but also boost the development of local tourism and service industries, further promoting the economic prosperity of Miri. He particularly welcomed guests from home and abroad, introduced the history and natural scenery of Miri, stating that Miri is Sarawak's second-largest city with rich culture and world-class natural attractions.

Finally, Minister Lee encouraged Zili Pavilion to continue contributing to social harmony and religious harmony and expressed expectations for future joint efforts. He wished that Zili Pavilion would flourish even more in the coming years, and wished all participants good health, family happiness, and smooth work.
