(Bandar Seri Begawan, 7th) The Brunei Maritime and Port Authority has issued a press statement to inform mariners of upcoming offshore coastal construction and dredging works in the waters of Pulau Muara Besar.
The project will be carried out by Anson International Co., Ltd., commencing this January and continuing until September 30, as part of the 'Integrated Marine Maintenance Decommissioning Yard' project, located in the waters surrounding Muara Port.
The affected work zone will be specially marked with yellow buoys and yellow lights that flash continuously at night for identification. All mariners are required to navigate with caution and keep a safe distance from the work area. All vessels passing through the relevant waters must also maintain an appropriate distance, reduce speed when crossing, and comply with the prescribed speed limits.
Failure to comply with these regulations, if convicted, may result in a fine of up to $10,000, imprisonment for up to two years, or both. Anson International will continue to monitor and manage navigation within the project area throughout the duration of the works.
