Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar pointed out that the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF) 2026-2030 Action Plan, launched on Thursday, will make the region a responsible and long-term investment destination.

He said the updated ACMF Action Plan and the "ASEAN Sustainable Finance Directory" reflect the joint commitment of all parties to establish reliable sustainable development standards and align regional markets with global expectations.

"A well-functioning capital market is crucial for mobilizing resources, efficiently allocating capital, and supporting growth. It must also uphold integrity, accountability, and trust."

He said this when delivering the keynote speech at the ACMF International Conference today (6th). His speech was read by Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah.

Anwar noted that investors today are increasingly seeking transparency, ethical behavior, and consistency with sustainable development, making it essential to meet these expectations.

"By adhering to fairness, transparency, and good governance, we attract high-quality capital and ensure that investments in ASEAN enhance market confidence and public trust."

"ACMF and our capital markets play key roles, not only driving capital flows but also enhancing public confidence, creating opportunities, and sharing prosperity."

Additionally, Securities Commission Chairman Datuk Mohd Faiz explained that the ACMF 2026-2030 Action Plan is based on five strategic priorities, aiming to build a more closely connected ASEAN capital market ecosystem.

He went on to say that these five strategic priorities are sustainable development, financial inclusion, regional connectivity, digital transformation, and improved ACMF institutional architecture.

"This provides a comprehensive roadmap for the region's capital markets."
