Sarawakians should reflect on the lessons of history to better prepare for the challenges of the modern era, said State Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.
He said Sarawak’s past teaches the futility of internal conflicts, which only harm relationships and offer no benefits to communities.
“About 100 years ago, our forefathers faced intra-tribal conflicts and disputes over spiritual beliefs, including headhunting, social status, honour, territorial claims, and resource ownership. These led to endless, chaotic, and violent situations,” he said.
