Korean 'Oxygen Beauty' Lee Young-ae returns to KBS for a Korean drama after 26 years, collaborating with Kim Young-kwang in 'Eunsoo’s Good Day,' and unexpectedly getting involved in a dark drug trafficking case. The day before yesterday, she appeared on anchor Sohn Seok-hee’s educational program 'Sohn Seok-hee’s Question 3,' discussing shooting over 240 commercials in the past 17 years, earning the title of 'Advertising Queen.' However, she feels there’s a gap between commercials and reality: “As an actress, I just act out the concepts given in commercials.” She candidly admitted to sometimes feeling uncomfortable: “Sometimes I really dislike seeing my face appear on TV, which is why I reduced filming ads. Commercials definitely have quite a few side effects.”
The drama is helmed by 'Another Miss Oh' director Song Hyun-wook and written by Jeon Young-shin of 'The Lies Within.' Lee Young-ae plays the ordinary housewife Kang Eunsoo, who fights alone to earn money for her terminally ill husband’s medical bills and accidentally discovers drugs, getting entangled in crime. Kim Young-kwang plays Lee Kyung, an art instructor at a cram school who is perfect in looks, character, and finances, but at night works as a PR at a famous Gangnam nightclub and supplies drugs to children from prominent families. Due to unexpected events, he becomes a partner in crime with Eunsoo in drug dealing.
This marks Lee Young-ae’s return to acting at KBS after 26 years, since 1999’s 'Love Only Strangers.' She confidently stated: “This is KBS’s most highly anticipated work for the second half of the year. I strongly recommend it!” and said it “could also be a new turning point for me personally.”
