(Bandar Seri Begawan, 23rd) About 25 seniors from the Tutong District Senior Citizens Activity Centre (PKWE) recently participated in a health and mindfulness interactive activity.
This event was organized by Universiti Brunei Darussalam's youth project team "Peace by Piece," aiming to promote the physical and mental well-being of seniors.
During the event, the seniors took part in a "Body and Mind Relaxation" session, using rhythmic movements to facilitate relaxation.
The seniors also joined in gentle aerobic exercises accompanied by music, enhancing their sense of joy, mobility, and social interaction.
This was followed by an "Art Therapy" activity, where participants created colorful flowers using pipe cleaners, showcasing their creativity. This activity encouraged people to practice mindfulness through art, helping with emotional healing and developing fine motor skills.
The program also included a mindful breathing exercise session, guiding the seniors to focus on their breathing rhythm in order to slow down their thoughts, relieve stress, and cultivate gratitude, thus helping them achieve deeper inner peace and emotional balance.
At the end of the program, Mr. Mohammad Yassin, the person in charge of the Tutong District Senior Citizens Activity Centre, expressed his sincere gratitude to the collaborating organizations and highly praised the program for its positive impact on the physical and mental well-being of seniors.
