On the evening of the 4th, Hamas issued a statement saying it had given a "positive" response to mediators regarding a ceasefire proposal for Gaza.
The statement said that, in order to stop Israel’s aggression against Gaza, Hamas and several Palestinian factions had completed internal consultations, and had given a "positive" response to the mediators. Hamas is "seriously prepared to immediately start negotiations on the implementation mechanism of the ceasefire agreement framework."
On the 1st, U.S. President Trump said that the United States and Israel held lengthy talks on the Gaza situation that day. The Israeli side agreed to the necessary conditions for reaching a 60-day ceasefire agreement with Hamas, and Qatar and Egypt would submit the final text of the agreement. He hoped that Hamas would also accept the agreement. On the 2nd, Hamas said it had begun internal consultations on the ceasefire proposal.
Since the outbreak of the current Israeli-Palestinian conflict in October 2023, Israeli military operations in Gaza have resulted in more than 57,000 Palestinian deaths and over 135,000 injuries.
