On the 4th, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued a statement claiming that over the past week, under the guidance of the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) and the IDF Military Intelligence Directorate, Israeli troops have continued military operations in Gaza and have now achieved "operational control" over approximately 65% of Gaza's area, killing more than 100 armed personnel.
The statement noted that among those killed were several commanders, including Issa, head of the combat support division of Hamas’s Qassam Brigades, and Sheikh, head of operations for the Khan Younis Brigade.
The statement said that since the resumption of ground operations in March this year, the Israeli Air Force has carried out more than 7,500 airstrikes on Gaza, targeting members of armed organizations, weapons storage facilities, rocket launchers, and underground tunnels.
The statement pointed out that Israeli forces are currently continuing their operations in Gaza.
