(Cheras, 29th) A Chinese national was arrested by police for allegedly secretly filming another man in the restroom of a shopping mall in Bukit Jalil.
Cheras District Police Chief Rosdi issued a statement pointing out that police arrested the suspect at 1:28 pm on Thursday (March 26) after receiving a report from the victim.
He said that at 11 am that day, the victim discovered the suspect attempting to secretly film with a mobile phone from the adjacent stall in the men's restroom on the 4th floor of the shopping mall.
He pointed out that during the arrest, police seized the suspect’s mobile phone and found several indecent videos in the photo album.
Rosdi noted that preliminary investigations found the suspect admitted involvement in the incident and did not possess any valid travel documents.
He stated that authorities are investigating the matter under Section 509 of the Penal Code and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
“The suspect will be remanded for 14 days under the Immigration Act from March 27 to April 9.”
