(Miri, 6th) Jointly organized by the Lin Family Higher Education Fund and the well-known local L&P Education Counseling Center, the 2026 Miri Education Counseling Fair was successfully held over three consecutive days from April 3rd to 5th, receiving an enthusiastic response.
This education fair, now in its third year, aims to provide a comprehensive and professional platform for further study consultation to students and parents who wish to pursue higher education. The event brought together representatives from many domestic and international universities and colleges, providing information about higher education and face-to-face consultation services on site, assisting students in planning their future educational paths.
It is worth mentioning that in conjunction with this three-day event, Lin Sijian also awarded scholarships through his foundation to encourage students who successfully received admissions offers at the fair.
“We are honored to have awarded a total of about 50 university students who were successfully admitted as encouragement. Among them, those studying locally received RM200, while those studying in other parts of the country were sponsored with air tickets to their destinations, in order to reduce their burden and as an encouragement.
He stated that this small gesture aims to encourage the children of Miri and also to recognize those who were admitted to further their studies within these three days, hoping that they will continue to pursue their dreams, apply what they have learned in the future, and contribute to the nation and society.
Lin Sijian pointed out that in order to encourage students in Miri to bravely chase their dreams, the Lin Family Higher Education Fund has been actively organizing educational activities over the years. Besides the education fair, in the past few years, they have spared no effort and spent considerable resources to invite lecturers from outside to provide training for various SPM subjects, greatly benefiting students.
“We will soon be co-hosting a series of SPM workshops with the L&P Education Counseling Center starting next month, inviting renowned lecturers from elsewhere to provide guidance and continue benefiting students in Miri. This is my commitment, and I will continue to promote it in preparation for the year-end exams.”
Lin Sijian sincerely thanked graduates from various secondary schools in Miri and their parents for actively attending the education fair, directly communicating with representatives of various universities and colleges to obtain first-hand information on further studies and properly prepare for their children's future.
He also expressed his gratitude to Lin Fangxian, founder of the L&P Education Counseling Center, and her team for their active cooperation with the foundation over the years, working together for the benefit of Miri's children and making significant contributions to the education field.
