(Bandar Seri Begawan, 6th) The Prime Minister’s Office’s Department of Information yesterday organized a national culture briefing titled “Our King: Appreciating the Brunei Flag and National Anthem” as well as a “Understanding ASEAN” roadshow activity, aimed at enhancing students’ understanding and identification with nationalism.
The national culture briefing was held at Sayyidina Husain Secondary School and managed by the Ethnic Affairs Unit, Ethnicity and Society Division, Strategic Communications Department of the Information Department.
The session was conducted by Mufidah, Head of the Ethnicity and Society Division, for 163 Year 7 students in the school’s multipurpose hall.
Sayyidina Husain Secondary School Principal Norliza, Vice Principal (Academic), and all teaching staff also attended the event.
During the briefing, students watched an animated video titled “Flag Raising Procedure” and had the opportunity to participate in a citizenship knowledge quiz to deepen their understanding of the briefing content.
The briefing concluded with the Head of the Social Affairs Unit presenting prizes to students who correctly answered the quiz questions.
This briefing aimed to foster students’ love for the King, religion, ethnicity, and nation, as well as strengthen their patriotic spirit, sense of unity, and high national consciousness.
In addition, 171 students from Sanah 8 Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girls’ Arabic Religious School participated in the “Understanding ASEAN” roadshow briefing held in the school’s main hall.
This session was conducted by Edi Iswandi, International Affairs Officer, Corporate Relations Section, Corporate Media & Communications Department.
The school’s Vice Principal (Academic) Pengiran Asmadi and teaching staff were also present at the briefing.
Students also had the chance to take part in an “Understanding ASEAN” knowledge quiz, with the award ceremony chaired by the Vice Principal (Academic).
The “Understanding ASEAN” roadshow aims to disseminate information related to ASEAN and continue cultivating students’ patriotic spirit and ASEAN awareness, enabling them to understand the functions and purposes of ASEAN’s establishment.
Furthermore, the program also helps strengthen the connection between the Information Department and the community, especially with students. Students will inherit the nation’s cause and play an important role in driving the country’s future development.
