(Bandar Seri Begawan, 20th) – The seventh and final contingent representing Brunei, consisting of four karate athletes and two coaches, has departed for Selangor, Malaysia to participate in the 22nd Malaysia Games (SUKMA).
The Acting Deputy Director of the Youth and Sports Department, Nurfaizah, was present at Brunei International Airport to wish them a safe journey.
Also in attendance for the send-off were officials from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, representatives from the Brunei Karate Federation (BRUKAF), and the athletes' families.
The Acting Deputy Director of the Youth and Sports Department, Nurfaizah, delivered a speech to the karate team, offering encouragement and guidance to the athletes, which concluded with a group photo session.
The national karate athletes will be competing in the Men's Individual Kumite (+84kg), Men's Individual Kumite (-75kg), Men's Individual Kata, and Women's Individual Kata events. The competitions will be held from August 21, 2026, at the Shah Alam Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC).
