(Kuching, 13th) – An elderly man, estimated to be in his 60s, was found dead in his home at Kampung Kampas Heights, Lane 6A1, believed to have passed away several days earlier.
Neighbors, after noticing a foul odor coming from the house, made a police report at around 1:03pm yesterday (12th). With police assistance, the deceased's body was discovered.
BBP Tabuan Jaya Operations Commander PBK II Pandi Seh stated that after receiving the report, the police requested the assistance of the fire and rescue team to break open the door.
"Firefighters used specialized tools to open the outer fence and front door of the house, and further inspection revealed that an elderly man had died inside," he said in a statement.
Initial information indicates the deceased was living alone. Neighbors said they had not seen him for several days.
The body was subsequently handed over to the police, and further investigations and autopsy will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.
"The case is currently under police investigation," Pandi added.
