The Ministry of Communications will adopt the 'consultation' (musyarawah) concept to seek opinions and ideas from all levels, which is also one of the initiatives emphasized by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar to enhance productivity.
Communications Minister Fahmi stated that he has asked the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Communications, Datuk Mohd Fauzi, to study strategies for implementing this concept within the department.
“I see that the Prime Minister has instructed us to find ways to improve productivity, not only through self-reflection but also by consulting with the team to seek everyone’s opinions and ideas.
“Therefore, I have requested the Ministry of Communications, and the Secretary-General to study the measures we can take so that we can research and enhance quality and productivity at the smallest unit level within any organization.”
He said this to reporters on Friday (January 3) after attending the 2025 Prime Minister's Message live broadcast event, which was attended by the Deputy Minister of Communications Teo Nie Ching, Mohd Fauzi, BERNAMA Chief Executive Officer Datin Paduka Nurul Afiqah, and Editor-in-Chief Arul Raj.
Additionally, Fahmi noted that the Prime Minister's advice to continue strengthening public service is a very good reminder, further encouraging public servants to always strive to improve their productivity.
“This is a very good reminder, meaning we should never be satisfied with achievements already attained but need to reflect on how to improve the situation and overcome weaknesses and shortcomings.
“However, at the same time, we must not ignore or forget to be grateful for the achievements we have already made.”
