Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar hopes that in the new year, young civil servants will have more opportunities to showcase their talents, with the aim of cultivating a second line of civil servants in the coming 2 to 3 years.
He stated that starting this year, civil servant training must be expanded to staff at all levels, especially young civil servants, allowing them to receive training in artificial intelligence, digitalization, energy transition, etc.
“The government is willing to allocate additional funds to ensure civil servants receive training, especially young civil servants, hoping that in the coming years they will have the ability to surpass external consultants.”
He mentioned that he has already requested an additional allocation of 100 million or 200 million ringgit for enhanced training.
This was stated during his 2025 New Year address at a meeting with members of the Prime Minister's Department (JPM) today.
He also mentioned that in the coming weeks, there will be a cabinet minister training camp to improve and enhance the shortcomings of ministers. Subsequently, training camps for secretaries-general and director-level positions will also be organized.
