Taiwan President Lai Ching-te will mark his two-year anniversary in office on Wednesday (May 20). On that morning, he will deliver a speech addressing his vision and future policy direction.
According to TVBS News and Taiwan's United Daily News, the Taiwan Presidential Office will hold a press conference at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, with Lai Ching-te personally leading Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim and Presidential Office Secretary-General Pan Meng-an. Lai Ching-te will also deliver a speech marking his two years in office, explaining his vision for the nation and the direction of future governance to the people of Taiwan.
During the press conference, Lai Ching-te will deliver a national governance report. His remarks will incorporate the 30th anniversary of Taiwan's first direct presidential election, reviewing how hard-won Taiwan's free and democratic way of life is. He will also expound on the government's achievements over the past two years and plans to continue leading Taiwan on a steady path, from the multiple perspectives of democratic deepening, national security, economic resilience, and social care.
