(Bandar Seri Begawan, 9th) Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office (Energy, Upstream and Downstream), Dato Mohd Azmi, attended the 41st OPEC and 41st Non-OPEC Ministerial Meeting (41st ONOMM) held online on June 7, 2026.
Also attending the meeting were the Permanent Secretary (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office, Faridah, as well as the Acting Permanent Secretary (First Finance) at the Ministry of Finance, Asrul.
During the meeting, ministers from member countries reiterated their long-term commitment under the "Declaration of Cooperation" to support the stability and balance of the global oil market.
The meeting also emphasized that the current crude oil production levels will be maintained until the end of 2026 and strengthened the role of the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC) in monitoring market conditions and participant compliance.
The meeting also approved plans drawn up by the Secretariat aimed at achieving the goals of the "Charter of Cooperation" (CoC) signed on July 2, 2019.
The meeting further emphasized the need to establish a mechanism for assessing maximum sustainable capacity (MSC) as a reference for all Declaration of Cooperation (DoC) participating countries' production benchmarks for 2027.
Brunei’s participation demonstrates Brunei’s continued support for ensuring the stability, transparency, and long-term sustainability of the global energy market.
Countries participating in the Declaration of Cooperation also agreed to extend the total crude oil production levels of OPEC member countries (as agreed at the 35th Ministerial Meeting) until December 31, 2026.
