According to data from the flight tracking website Flightradar24, during the crossfire between India and Pakistan on the 7th, most airlines avoided Pakistani airspace, but two Ethiopian Airlines planes were found flying over almost no-flight areas in Pakistan.
Flightradar24 stated that an Ethiopian Airlines flight ETH604 crossed the "war-clouded" airspace at a cruising altitude of 39,000 feet and a speed of 888 kilometers per hour. The ETH604 flight was from Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, to Beijing.
Data also shows that another Ethiopian Airlines flight, ETH672, also traversed Pakistani airspace from south to north and eventually arrived safely in Seoul, South Korea, that afternoon.
This event has attracted significant attention and discussion among netizens.
One netizen exclaimed, "Nothing can stop Ethiopian Airlines from flying to Beijing... nothing can!"
It is understood that Pakistan had not closed its airspace at the time, but many routes were inaccessible.
Many airlines announced on the 7th that due to the conflict between India and Pakistan, flights to and from Europe would change routes or be canceled. Images from the flight tracking website also show that, apart from a few flights, nearly no civilian aircraft were flying over the northwest airspace of India and across the entirety of Pakistan.
