According to official information, more than 20,000 overseas travelers are currently stranded in the United Arab Emirates. Airlines have suspended flights to the Middle East, causing thousands of flights to be delayed or canceled. This is the largest disruption to global air transport since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Due to regional instability causing local flight disruptions, the relevant authorities in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, UAE, have requested local hotels to extend accommodation services for stranded travelers.

Xinhua News Agency reported that the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism sent a notice to local hotels, requiring them to extend accommodation services for travelers unable to leave due to regional circumstances, and stated that the related costs would be borne by the government.

The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism has also requested local hotels to extend accommodation arrangements for travelers who are unable to depart due to flight suspensions, delays, or cancellations.

According to official information, more than 20,000 overseas travelers are currently stranded in the UAE.

Due to factors such as adjustments to regional airspace, multiple airlines have made changes to flights to and from the UAE. Chinese airlines including Air China and China Eastern Airlines have issued announcements in succession, providing passengers with free refund and rescheduling services.
