(Kuala Lumpur, 26th) After more than 6 years of trial, the case of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib, who is accused of misappropriating over RM2.27 billion from 1MDB, will be delivered today (26th).

This is the second major verdict Najib faces this week, following the rejection of his house arrest order. Dozens of supporters waited for Najib’s arrival outside the court, while a large number of local and international media gathered at Putrajaya Palace of Justice as early as 7 a.m. to wait for first-hand news.
Najib arrived at the Putrajaya Palace of Justice at 8:25 a.m., earlier than which MCA President Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong and Najib’s son Datuk Mohammad Nizar were also seen arriving separately at 8:18 a.m. and 8:24 a.m.

In the 1MDB misappropriation case, Najib faces 4 charges of abuse of power and 21 charges of money laundering. If convicted on all 25 counts, he could face a maximum of 185 years in prison and a fine of over RM10 billion.
