Forbes Annual Highest Earnings Ranking: 'King of Bad Movies' Surpasses Tom Cruise

The income of Hollywood superstars is as unpredictable as "seafood prices"—it can change at any minute. Recently, American financial magazine Forbes released its annual earnings ranking, and the results are surprising!

When it comes to the highest earnings, most people would guess that Tom Cruise would be number one. However, according to statistics, Adam Sandler is actually the highest earning actor. Adam, who has recently “sold himself” to Netflix, earned as much as $48 million USD (about 190 million MYR) last year, topping the film industry's income chart. Over his career, Adam has made quite a few "bad movies," and he holds the record for the most Razzie Awards nominations ever—37 times. However, in recent years, he has transitioned to drama films, which have received quite good reviews.

Coming right after Adam is Tom Cruise. While filming Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning last year, he earned a whopping $46 million USD (about 180 million MYR). In third place is handsome actor Mark Wahlberg. Like Adam, Mark has also focused on streaming platforms in recent years, and last year his income reached $44 million USD (about 170 million MYR).

The highest-earning actress last year was "Black Widow" Scarlett Johansson, ranking fourth overall with $43 million USD (about 160 million MYR) in earnings. Additionally, Cameron Diaz, who recently returned to acting with two Netflix films, is reported to have earned as much as $20 million USD (about 79.06 million MYR) in the past year.
