Loke Siew Fook Denies Rumors of Bersatu Wanting to Join Pakatan Harapan: Says PN's Infighting Might Be Just Gossip

(Seremban, 25th) DAP Secretary-General Loke Siew Fook on Monday (May 25) denied rumors that the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU) might join Pakatan Harapan (PH), and stated that he has no intention of speculating on talk suggesting tensions between BERSATU and PAS.

Recently, reports have circulated that PAS may be reconsidering its political cooperation with BERSATU, leading to speculation of internal rifts within Perikatan Nasional (PN).

In response, when interviewed by the media, Loke Siew Fook said: “I have not heard, nor has anyone told me about this. I do not want to speculate on these rumors because it might just be outside gossip that PAS is ready to ‘break up’ with BERSATU.”

Loke Siew Fook, who is also the Member of Parliament for Seremban, pointed out that he has no intention of commenting on any political restructuring involving BERSATU.

Loke Siew Fook made these remarks on Sunday (24th) after attending a tea gathering for the 2025 SPM (Malaysian Certificate of Education) outstanding students in his constituency.

He also mentioned that DAP had cooperated with BERSATU during the previous Pakatan Harapan administration, but was ultimately left disappointed.

“Back then, before the PH government under Dr Mahathir collapsed in 2020, DAP had even supported BERSATU’s candidate for Prime Minister.”

Loke Siew Fook added that he does not agree to initiate any new political cooperation with BERSATU.
