On the 27th, the French Armed Forces General Staff announced on social media that the French aircraft carrier strike group Charles de Gaulle departed from Toulon, France, to participate in the French military's large-scale 'Orion 26' military exercise in the Atlantic Ocean.

The General Staff stated that warships from several allied nations have also joined the 'Charles de Gaulle' carrier strike group for this exercise to demonstrate coalition operational capability.

However, the authorities did not disclose the specific location of the exercise.

According to Agence France-Presse citing informed sources, the exercise will be held in the North Atlantic.

The report mentioned that recently, due to disputes between the United States and Europe over acquiring Greenland and other reasons, the North Atlantic has become a 'sensitive area.'

The 'Orion 26' military exercise is scheduled to take place from February 8 to April 30, involving about 12,500 personnel, with 25 ships including the 'Charles de Gaulle' carrier, 140 airplanes and helicopters, 1,200 drones, as well as related cyber and space warfare resources. More than 20 countries will participate in the exercise.
