(Israel, 28th) — On the 27th, Hamas issued a statement confirming that its military leader Oda, his wife, and two sons were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a residential building in Gaza City on the 26th.
The statement said that Israel's assassinations, blockades, and starvation policies cannot achieve its aim of occupying this land.
Sources from medical departments in the Gaza Strip told Xinhua News Agency that the Israeli airstrike on the evening of the 26th resulted in six deaths, including Oda, his family, and two bystanders, with around 20 others injured.
The latest report from the Gaza health authorities shows that, since the ceasefire agreement took effect on October 10, 2025, more than 900 Palestinians have died and over 2,000 have been injured in Israeli military actions.
Earlier, the Israeli military stated that it had killed Hamas’s new military leader Oda in a strike on the Gaza Strip.
The statement said that Oda was "one of the planners" of the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack on Israel. Not long ago, Oda succeeded the previous Hamas military leader Hadad, who was assassinated by the Israeli military. Oda was also head of Hamas’s intelligence department.
