Economy Minister Rafizi said that the government will announce the classification of domestic groups, especially T15 (high-income group), in mid-next year to implement the targeted RON95 petrol subsidy measure.
He pointed out that the announcement will provide a space for individuals who have not been registered in the main database system (PADU) to register and appeal for those who have registered but do not meet the eligibility.
“There will be an appeals mechanism, so it has to be done first, and then implemented at gas stations.
“Therefore, the group classification matter must be completed in the first half of next year.”
He responded to the question posed by Datuk Raz Ghiddin, the Member of Parliament for Putrajaya from the Bersatu party, in the House of Representatives, regarding the implementation of the RON95 subsidy and appropriate assistance measures for the affected groups.
Rafizi commented that the implementation of the targeted RON95 subsidy considers the level of disposable net income, with an estimated 85% of the population qualifying for the subsidy.
